So I've been using uTorrent for a while now, but I've read a lot of positive things about qBittorent so I decided to give it a shot. I downloaded the newest version, and began downloading a 10gig 1080p movie. What I thought was going to be a normal download around my usual 8 Mb/s, turned into an absolute roller-coaster. As soon as I started the download, my down speed skyrocketed to a whopping 20 Mb/s. I don't even have speeds that fast while using my VPN. Now this wouldn't have been a problem, but the download absolutely destroyed my CPU.
I'm talking 100% usage for the entire duration. The fan was blasting at full rpm, and my CPU was right up to 98c the entire time. I had every other application closed, and the only thing my computer was doing was downloading this movie.
On the bright side, the download finished faster than I could say 'thermal throttle', but other than that it was a problem. The movie wasn't malware or anything, I am sure of that. I tried to see if other users had reported the same problem, but I could not find any evidence of this happening to others whatsoever.
All I've read about this client is how lightweight it is, and how it doesn't demand much from my machine. What's the deal yo? I've got a 2017 MBP with a kabylake i5, so I'm not sure what the issue is. Any suggestions?.
